Kay Reeve turns talking into a framework for compassion, connection, and change for parents and teenagers...

We’ve all been teenagers at some point. And who can forget this time? Often painted in the media as being one of fun, exploration and adventure – it can actually be incredibly difficult for the young people, who have to go through these years in the modern world.

Firstly there’s the huge emotions that teenagers start to feel. Often these can be so powerful that they appear real. And that’s before we even start on the social groups and hierarchies that can form at schools and social clubs. Places that we trust to do the best for our teenage sons and daughters.

All too often the impact of these emotions can be difficult for parents too. How many of you have had to deal with slammed doors, poor conversational responses and a confused feeling that leaves you shut out and desperate for some answers?

Most problems can be solved by communicating with those around us… But what happens when your teenager shuts you out of the conversation?

What do you do when the bond of childhood that you once enjoyed seems to be fraying and you can’t seem to reach your teenager? How can you put your own emotional response to one side to start getting through their own struggles and difficulties?

Kay Reeve is here to give you a different way. She believes that approaching your situation with emotional intelligence can give you a route back to a strong and supportive relationship.

Kay Reeve draws on her own experience of bringing her son back from the chasm of depression, using talking, communication and her models of change to bestow new understanding and light on his problem. Within weeks of trying her new approach, her son was able to take control of his emotional state and identify the route causes of his mood. Over time he developed new friendships and relationships, using these new techniques.

A Toolkit for Talking

It’s these models that Kay knows can help other parents like you make a difference when talking to the teenagers in your life. She gives you methods, techniques and models that allow you to overcome the barriers to conversation, and then go a step further – raising emotional awareness.

Every single problem with teenagers is different. Kay gives you the compassionate background necessary to approach conversations in a different way, free from blame and denial. Her systems of understanding change allow you to develop a fast and fresh perspective on the underlying issues, challenging the darkness and opening up space, where you may have felt shut out before.

And ultimately she gives your teenagers the power to internalise her techniques and systems. Overtime, they’ll develop the confidence to trust in their emotional reactions – knowing when to speak up, take themselves away from a situation, and perhaps most importantly, they’ll know who and when to trust.

Most teenage problems get worse because they feel misunderstood, alone in life, and lost in their emotions.

Open up discussions and win back the most vital relationships in your life with Kay Reeve.

Whether you buy the book or join a masterclass, It’s your toolkit for talking.
